My First Paddle
Every player remembers the paddle that started it all.
For me, it was a basic composite paddle—nothing special, but it changed everything. I still remember stepping onto the court for the first time, unsure and curious. That paddle helped me discover a sport that builds community, tests skill, and creates joy.
Whether you’re learning to serve or aiming for your first tournament medal, every paddle has a story—and this section is where yours begins.
Explore beginner tips, gear advice, and on-court strategies as you grow your game.
My first paddle was borrowed from another player and then from the local gym a loaner.
It was after covid and having played tennis from. An early age and pong pong, squash and racquetball i saw people playing a sport i had never seen before at the gym.
Being that it was a racquet sport I was intrigued and asked about it.
The people playing were so kind and explained all about pickleball and let me give it a try.
That was the beginning of a love for the sport and the people who play it.
As besides a very social aspect to the sport and people so friendly and helpful i also quickly learned it can be competitive like most sports.
I still remember stepping onto the court the first time, unsure and courious. That paddle helped me discover a sport that build community, tests skills and creates joy.
Thank you to all that helped that special day.
